Faculty & Staff

A critical part of our mission is to partner with you, the faculty and staff, in helping students ultimately realize their life goals. We depend on the inclusion of, support and referrals from our colleagues. We feel very fortunate at Stockton University that we all work hand-in-hand.  Some career development items of interest to you as a faculty member and preceptor are listed below.

For more information or questions regarding any of Career Education & Development programs or services please contact us at 609-652-4650.

Our staff is available for presentations on a variety of career related topics. With advanced notice, we can also secure alumni and/or employer speakers. Topics have included, but are not limited to: resume writing, interviewing, job search, and graduate school search.

Our primary career management system, Handshake, allows students to search for and apply for jobs and internships, post multiple resumes and cover letters, maintain an online personal calendar for career events…and much more! Select NJ, then Stockton University,  and continue from there. Also, check out our Community on Job  & Internship Searching.

Employer-in-Residence Program

Career Education & Development Employer-in-Residence program provides employers who visit Stockton University the opportunity to share expert knowledge about careers in their industries; prepare students for the networking and job search process through one-on-one and group interactions; offer career advice to students seeking career direction; and build relationships with constituents in the campus community.  Past Employers-in-Residence have included Target, Enterprise, CDW, FBI, Vanguard, and Verizon Wireless.  For more information click here

About Careers

Sometimes your preceptee may ask, “What are my career options within a given major?” Let them know that in addition to your assistance they can talk to a career advisor in Career Education & Development. More specifically preceptees sometimes ask you “What can I do with a Major in __________?” For beginning answers to that question, use the “What Can I Do With This Major?” tool. You can also click here to see all of our student resources, including this handout which focuses on what students should do each year of college in order to stay on track with their career development.

Graduate School

Students may come to Career Education & Development and get editing assistance in writing personal statements for admissions, discuss the timeline and strategy for the application process or access our extensive collection of reference books.  Additionally, students can tap into our collection of resources to search for graduate programs and information and prep tools for graduate tests.

One of the main reasons students cite as to why they enroll in higher education is to get a better job.  So where do our Stockton graduates end up?  What percentage land full-time jobs and what percent enroll in graduate programs? View our graduate outcomes data.
